The company awarded 13 scholarships to university students, five to young people who will be in their first year of study, and eight to students who have received financial support from previous calls.

October 13, 2020.- For the third consecutive year, Nova Austral awarded five scholarships for higher education to young people from Porvenir, graduates of the Liceo Polivalente Hernando de Magallanes, for the beginning of their university studies in 2020.

These grants are provided within the framework of the agreement that the company signed in 2017 with the Municipality of Porvenir and the Hernando de Magallanes Polyvalent Lyceum to support talented students and encourage the effort to young people.

In this way, the new beneficiary students, who stand out for having an outstanding academic performance, will receive this financial aid throughout their training process since the scholarships’ objective is to improve the opportunities for entry, permanence, and complete programs in higher education.

The five young people who will receive the scholarships are:

Katalina Morales Ulloa (Law at the University of Magallanes)

Gabriela Paz Arrizaga Guerrero (Law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica)

Tomás Antonio Hernández Slattery (Architecture at the University of Santiago)

Monserrat Marion Vera Levill (Nursing at the University of Magallanes)

Juan Carlos Vargas Besnier (Civil Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica).

To these five beneficiaries, there are also eight students selected in the calls for the 2018 and 2019 scholarships who continue to pursue their higher studies with this aid’s support.

“We are delighted to complete the third edition of this program and to be able to help 13 young people from Porvenir to complete their university studies. We are also very proud of the effort made by them, and we hope to be able to motivate more students to apply for scholarships in future editions since as a company we are committed to continue promoting this initiative in favor of education”, commented Nicolás Larco, CEO of Nova Austral.
